The Frigidaire 30 in. Freestanding Induction Range with Auto-Sizing Pan Detection uses modern technology to provide precise and even heat to cookware as Safe Surface Induction keeps the surrounding areas cool to the touch. Auto-Sizing Pan Detection will detect the pan size and warm the necessary area without any extra input from you. Once the pan is placed the Temperature Precision will cook the food as you want it, from a low simmer for a sauce (thanks to the True Temp Melt & Hold) to nice high heat sear on a steak. Use the storage drawer to store your special induction cookware right below the oven for easy to find access.

Questions & Reviews

What are the benefits of Induction?

Induction cooking directly heats the pan; heating will only begin when cookware is properly placed on the cooking zones. Fast and efficient - Induction cooking zones heat faster and use less energy. Induction power levels are quick to boil and they are efficient when simmering.

A cooler cooktop - A unique feature of the induction cooking zones is, whether it is turned on or off, the cooking zones remain cooler than radiant type elements. Virtually no wasted heat is produced since the heat begins with the presence of cookware.

Easy cleanups - The cooler cooking zones make cleanup easier. Spills resist sticking or burning so they wipe up easily.

Magnetic detector - The cooking zone has a sensor that automatically detects whether cookware is magnetic. This will reduce accidental “turn-ons.”

Pan size detection - The pan size recognition sensor automatically detects and adapts the induction cooking zones to the pan sizes in use for consistent, more even cooking.

More responsive - Induction cooking zones are more responsive than their electric or gas counterparts because only the pan heats. This type of cooking heats easier and will be just as responsive when reducing to a simmer.

What type of cookware do I use with Induction?

For the best possible surface cooking results, it is recommended to only use high quality heavy gauge cookware on the induction cooking zones. Be sure to follow all the manufacturer’s recommendations when using cookware made for induction cooking. To check if the cookware base material is suitable, use a magnet to test. If a magnet sticks to the bottom of the cookware, the material type is correct. The most common induction cookware types available are:

Stainless steel - Generally excellent for induction cooking plus it is durable, easy to clean and resists staining. However, it is important to note that not all stainless steel is magnetic.
Cast iron - Good for induction cooking. Cooks evenly. Do not slide cast iron cookware on cooktop. Cast iron cookware with a rough surface will scratch ceramic cooktop.
Porcelain-enamel coated metals - Heating characteristics will vary depending on quality of base material. Porcelain-enamel coating must be smooth to avoid scratching the ceramic cooktop.

For more information or tips on cookware, visit your Owner’s Manual."

Why does my Induction range make noises when I’m cooking?

Some cookware can hum or buzz when used in induction cooking. The surface and oven controls click as they work to create even cooking temps. Temp changes during preheat and cool-down can make parts of the range expand and contract. Different fans run to heat up the oven or cool down different parts of the range, even when it’s off. These sounds are normal.

How do I know what power level to use on my induction cooktop surface?

If you were accustom to using Low, Medium or High settings, we want help you become familiar with the settings on your Induction range. Here is a quick easy guide to help you but feel free to refer to your Owner’s Manual for more information and tips.

Can I 'mute' the audible tones on my appliance?

The option to silent audible tones may not be applicable on all models so you want to check your Owner’s Manual. For applicable models - When selecting a function on your display, an audible tone is heard each time a key is pressed. If you desire, the display can be programmed for silent operation. To set the controls for silent operation:

Press and hold Start Time for 6 seconds. The display will beep once and then you can release the key.
The controls are now set for silent operation.
To return your audible tones to normal operation:
Press and hold Start Time again for 6 seconds until the display beeps once and then you release the key.
The controls are now set for audible operation.

30" Freestanding Induction Range is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this range. I've had my new frigidaire induction range for about a month and I just love it. The range top with the induction elements work so fast. The instant heat and heat change makes cooking a joy. If food boils over no burnt food on the stove top. I am very happy with my purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Issues with range We purchased multiple Frigidaire products when we updated our kitchen. We have had an issue with each appliance. We purchased the range as a floor model and the rest came later. The circuit board went out on the induction top and needed to be replaced and most recently the front glass shattered while being used, the fan on the microwave began growling and needed a piece to be folded back, the dishwasher didn’t heat and needed to be fixed, and finally our refrigerator will not make ice. I’m not very impressed with the product to say the least. Only saving grace is we purchased the extended warranty on the products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just love it!!! I bought this a month ago, we have young age grand children and like the fact that the surface doesn't stay hot. I am so happy with this stove!! I was nervous about it, but it is so easy to use, efficient and easy to clean. I did have to buy new pots and pans for it but I love them too!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs to label front/rear on the controls Previous stove had the burners labeled front/rear. We have a lot of users and small kitchen, so we keep pans on the stove. It's not unusual to have someone activate the wrong burner. It's too easy of a mistake to make becasue the manufacturer didn't label front/rear on the top conrol panel. Induction vs gas - we need a list of the poweer settings to use for various oils. We use lodge cast iron and occasionally find that we burn the oil at too high a temp. This stove heats much more quickly than gas, ( good thing ), but with a gas stove, you see the oil and turn it down. I guess that this is just somthing to get used to. A chart of power level vs oil type would be helpful. We make lots of pasta now, this thing speeds things up by boiling water very fast. Nice stove, ergonomics could be better. There's a learning curve to using it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT RANGE! EXCELLENT VALUE! COULD NOT BE HAPPIER This is an excellent range with a ++ value point! First, I did my homework, tested my pots, and read reviews. Frigidiare has done an excellent job of making induction cooking affordable. All other induction ranges are $1,800 at a minimum. Induction cooking is the way to go PERIOD! Super fast, almost like playing with a toy. Range is sleek, contemporary, and gives my new remodel some pizzazz. Its definitely a talking point with guests. Had it for a month and no scratches on the cooktop, which i believe is due to the induction top not getting hot hot so foods won't burn on. In addition, I buy Frigidiare products because they stand behind them, have outstanding customer service, and an outstanding warrantee (don't buy a big box warrantee get theirs since you can use ANY authorized repair center). I don't know what else to say. It is well made, is of good quality, and looks super-good. Some of the negative reviews are from those who did not do their homework i.e., "i had to get new pots." or "I dont like the bottom drawer." Well all of the literature out there tells you that only pots that a magnet can stick to will work. As far as the bottom draw, its the same as all the others in its price range (I checked all of the other ranges from various manufacturers) but the drawer is unimportant to me. If you want a really high-end appliance such as from their parent company (who makes absolutely OMG gorgeous appliances) and can afford to lay out 3 grand, then by all means, do it. But at the below $1,000 category, this one is the best out there and I don't mean induction only, I mean the best one period - be it induction, radiant, or gas. I gave it a good on features because I wish it had a hidden bake element (and the thermometer). But I guess if it were all that important to me, i would have sprung for the extra bucks and purchased the Gallery model. Last, I have not experienced the dreaded F40 code but I am not worried about it. If I do, all I have to do is call Frigidiare and I am positive, they will take care of it promptly. Now THATS peace of mind. Well done Frigidiare; well done indeed. This review IS NOT part of a promotion.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Value Induction Pros: Efficient heat deliver. The food cooks, not me. Tons of power: Water boils in half the time, steaks sear in even less. Easy to clean Cons: It doesn't get along as well as I'd hoped with my All Clad cookware I bought specifically for it. The largest burner only works with cookware that is far larger in diameter. The heat isn't as even as with gas. This may also be related to the point above, but the heat is concentrated in a circular area in the center of the cookware, with I'd guess about 50% area coverage. Overall, I still love having it, and intend to stick with induction indefinitely.
