How do I improve my baking results with my Frigidaire range?

You may be surprised to learn your bakeware can impact your baking results. By using the proper rack position, you can improve your baking results - - especially if you are baking on multiple racks. Your Owner’s Manual has great tips and tricks to optimize your baking performance and recommended rack positions based on food type. For more information or tips to try, review the “Before You Call” section of your Owner’s Manual if you are experiencing any issues with your baking performance.

How do I insert and remove my racks from my Frigidaire range?

The type of racks in your range may vary by model. Based on your appliance, your Owner’s Manual provides a description of various types of racks. Most racks can simply be removed by pulling the oven rack straight out until it reaches the stop position. Tilt up the front of the oven rack to slide past the stop position and pull the rack out of the oven cavity. To insert the rack, rest the oven rack evenly between a left and right front guide along the oven walls so that the oven rack rests level. Tilt front of the rack upward and slide rack in past the stop position. Then bring the rack to a level position and slide the rack completely inside the oven.

To keep your oven racks gliding smoothly when you’re removing or inserting them, we recommend applying cooking oil along their outer edges.

If your oven is equipped with the Effortless Oven Rack system, you can refer to your Owner’s Manual for specific instructions. The Effortless Oven Rack system will automatically partially extend the oven rack from the interior oven glides to assist in easier access to your food items. This feature works whenever the oven door is opened or closed. IMPORTANT: Only the Effortless Oven Rack system should be used in the oven rack position 2. Placing any other rack in the oven rack position 2 will prevent the oven door from fully closing and may damage the oven door, oven cavity or the door connector brackets.

How do I clean my Frigidaire range?

Your Owner’s Manual provides helpful tips regarding care and cleaning for your range to include the exterior and interior components such as knobs, stainless steel, racks, door and cooktop, etc. You can also purchase cleaners directly. If your appliance has Smudge Proof Stainless Steel, use a soft cloth, clean with a mild dish detergent and water or a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water. Rinse with clean water, dry with a soft clean cloth. Do not use appliance cleaner, stainless steel cleaner or cleaner containing abrasives, chlorides, chlorine or ammonia. These cleaners may damage the finish.

How do I set my oven or range to self-clean?

To self-clean your oven, follow these simple steps:

  1. Remove the oven racks.
  2. Set your oven control to clean.
  3. Select a cleaning time or choose a cleaning level: light, medium, or heavy soiled. For typical cleaning needs, we recommend that you select a cleaning time of three hours or choose the medium soiled setting.
  4. Select Start. (To set a delayed start, see your use and care manual.)

Note: For safety reasons, the oven door will remain locked until the oven cools down. When it is sufficiently cool, the door will automatically unlock.

Why does my oven smoke when I’m using the Air Fry Tray?

Air Fry circulates super-heated air inside the oven, and the Air Fry Tray allows that air to cook the food all over, even on the bottom. For Air Fry to deliver crunchy texture, a little oil needs to be on the food. That oil cooks fast to create the crunch we love! Convenience foods that are made to be crispy from the oven may have more oil on them than homemade foods. Some foods, like homemade chicken wings, are going to drip while they cook. A little smoke is normal, but we have some tips to help:

  • When using the Air Fry Tray, place a baking sheet on the oven rack one or two positions below the Air Fry Tray. This keeps drips and crumbs from landing on the oven bottom, where they will burn and create smoke. Place some foil-lined parchment paper on the baking sheet. Parchment paper traps oil and keeps it from smoking.
  • When making homemade food, use cooking oils that can stand up to a high temperature. For example, olive oil and some vegetable oils will smoke at lower temps than avocado, grape seed, and peanut oils. Cooking sprays made from these oils are available at the grocery store.
  • Remember to keep foil, parchment paper, and bakeware off the bottom of the oven! The oven bottom needs to stay clear so air can circulate.

30" Front Control Electric Range with Air Fry is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely great! The new Gallery range is amazing! The air fry feature works great, and is fun to try new things with. Baking with the convection option has helped even temperature when cooking as well. My old range went out, and I could only use one burner on the cook top area. This has been a great upgrade. The surface cooks very evenly and has a great power burner for a fast boil. Highly recommend! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Range Is Now Part of the Family... There was time, in the not too distant past, where french fries were over or under done, their evenly browned crispiness a thing of dreams. Enter the Frigidaire range with airfry. The french fries were so easy, my son and I expanded our repertoire of recipes, stuffing a fresh Cuban bread from the local bakery with tomatoes and vegan mushroom gravy-a French Fry Po Boy-something to brag to your friends about, and not be ashamed of. The look is impeccable, seamlessly blending in to the backsplash we just had installed. Bravo Frigidaire!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Air Fryer is the BEST! I have had this range for about 4 months and as a busy mom I use the Air Fryer almost everyday. From everything to your basic frozen meals to the most awesome chicken wings our family has been very pleased. The top is impressive as well as it's much more effective getting items to a boil faster than other electric ranges I have had in the past. Beautiful and performs great, could not ask for much more! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Range! This range is amazing. My wife and I don't cook much, but since we got this range, we actually enjoy trying new recipes and cooking at home more. The electric elements are FAST -- We over-boiled water the first time because our other range took so long. Same thing with the convection oven - great results and extremely fast. We haven't had the opportunity to experiment much with the air fry feature, but we can't wait to try it out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Range at a Great Value! I've been using this product for a few weeks now, and it is hands-down the best range I have ever owned. I've never had an oven with convection before, and it's amazing how much crispier it makes all my food (like roasted vegetables and homemade pizzas!). I've used the "keep warm" feature in previous ovens, but I've never seen an oven with a cooktop "warm zone". I've loved using this feature to keep food hot while I eat. I haven't tried the "air fry" feature yet, but I'm excited to test it out soon. One thing to note—this oven will smoke from the top vent for a few minutes the first time you turn it on. Upon a quick Google search, I realized this was normal for new convocation ovens, but just a heads-up if you plan to purchase this range or any other new convection oven. All in all, this product has exceeded my expectations and I would 100% recommend it to anyone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phenomenal Range We purchased this several weeks ago to replace a Whirlpool range that was over 18 yrs old. This range is fantastic. The quick boil feature cuts cooking time significantly. The element with 3 different sizes is extremely useful. I have some large pans that fit perfectly on the largest size & the smallest size is great for my small pans. I haven't used the warming element yet. The convection feature works wonderfully. Food cooks more evenly & quicker. We absolutely love the AirFry feature. I didn't think I'd use it much. My grandkids love having tater tots that are super crispy. I found the range online & we purchased it sight unseen based on the features, the price, and Frigidaire's reputation. So far, we couldn't be more pleased. We found stainless steel counter gap fillers to cover the unfinished sides of our countertops which really gave the range a finished look. I highly recommend this range. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy with Purchase Have had this about a month now, and love all the features. The quick boil is a great feature, and I love the 3 size option on the other element. The oven display is easy to use and nice & bright. Love the exterior of the range, nice clean lines and the total front window for the oven makes it very sleek looking. It fit perfectly in the existing space and no problems with any extra space on the sides of the range. The storage drawer is a little shallower than I would like, and I did have to rearrange a few items that I had in my previous drawer. Inside the oven is large & roomier with no bottom element to mess with if you happen to have a little overflow. Love the Air Fry and Convection cooking! Am waiting for their Air Fry Tray to go on sale as I think it's a bit expensive. Food cooks more quickly & more even than my last range. And just so you know, this is an unsolicited review - I have received nothing to review this! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
