Does A Great Job
Live in East Tennessee, this summer the humidity was so high the A/C cooled the house but could not lower the humidity enough. This unit took care of the humidity even on the worst days. Just be aware that it generates heat. And you cannot vent the heat outside because this heated air is the dry air you are trying to make. I place my unit so that the warm air was pulled into the A/C intake and therefore did not create a warm area in the house. Works great, I bought a second one for a spare room in my garage that can get stale and humid when not used frequently. Works great there also. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I bought this a month ago to dry out and keep dry a basement in which there was always condensation on the pipes. I should have bought this much sooner. My pipes are dry for the first time ever -- even when the humidity outside is 100%. There are no puddles of water from the dripping.
The dehumidifier is very nicely made. It is easy to operate and maintain. I hope it lasts a long time, and I have no reason to think it will not do so. It has already shrugged off two power outages and a surge that toasted my wifi router. The dehumidifier just restarted and reset to its previous settings. Great so far but the cord is too short.
I have only been using my dehumidifier for about a month so I can't speak to it's longevity. So far I haven't had any problems and it keeps my entire basement at 45 - 50% humidity with no problem (I have a 2800 sq. ft. 2 story house). I especially like the pump for draining. Mine is set-up to pump to my washing machine drain that is about 6 ft above the floor. My only complaint is that the cord is way too short and the user's manual says not to use an extension cord. If they expect you not to use an extension cord they should provide a much longer cord. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Best (Consumer) Dehumidifier Available
As a previous owner of a Frigidaire Dehumidifier who lives in a VERY humid locale, I was impressed with its efficiency & longevity (3 years). Other Brands I have owned haven't lasted more than ONE season!
The addition of a drainage pump to model FFAP7033T1 is a Godsend!!! Previous makes and models required emptying at least twice per day, but I can just let the FFAP7033T1 run and drain into my basement sump. It has reduced the humidity in my basement by a factor of 43%, along with eliminating the mold & mildew (odor) and even my tools have stopped rusting! Nice Work, Frigidaire! The pump feature only works for a short while after the bucket is full. That means if you want to use the pump for some reason, which is why I bought this one, it works for 5 minutes then the entire unit shuts off. What good is this pump? What good??
If that were revealed to me before purchase there is no way in the world I would’ve bought it. Haven’t tried the ‘continual flow’ option yet. I have to drill a 3/4 hole in a wall to get the “garden hose” to the drain in the basement. Continual flow is what I have with a pump on a Delonghi unit. Anyway, not happy with the drainage options here, but the unit works well as of Day 2.

Bought because of capacity and pump
I bought this to handle an unfinished 2500sf basement-workshop. Important feature was the pump since I did not have a floor drain. It has operated very well. I no longer sweat in 60%plus humidity. I have tested the accuracy in terms of automatically on off at a setting. I did have it work without the pump to get a feel for how much water it pulled out. It generally filled up overnight or during day at work and shutoff. The one star mark down was due to the instruction manual on removing drain plug for pump hose install. It was not intuitive and I almost ruined the unit. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

could not have made a more better choice,
Debated whether this would work in my house considering my house contains 2500 square feet. I placed this unit in my utility room with the drain hose placed in the sink, I empty the bucket before bed and again in the morning, the master bedroom is next to the utility room and the noise from the unit with pump on does not disturb our sleep. The unit keeps this end of the house at 45% humidity without any problem. My wife has a lung problem and the low humidity level is required and maintained with this unit. I could not have made a better choice and would recommend this unit to anyone considering a dehumidifier. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Dried my basement out in less than a day
Our old dehumidifier died last year. I did not replace it right away, because it was late in the summer. With all the rain this spring, the basement became very damp and started to smell. I purchased the unit and within one day, the basement was noticeably drier and smelled much better. The old unit was very warm and tended to make the basement warm. This unit is quiet and puts off very little heat. The raised side drain allows it to drain (without empting the bucket every day) and does not require raising the whole unit to drain correctly like my old one did. I purchased a second unit for another building on my property. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
