70 Pint Capacity Dehumidifier is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 5197.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Unit fails in 6 months I purchased a 70 pint Frigidaire Dehumidifier (Model FFAD7033R1) in June, 2015 which failed this December (6 months). The unit stopped working and displayed an error Code FO which indicated either a Voltage (outside 115 volt +/- 10% range) or Temperature error (outside of 41 to 90 degree F range). I checked the incoming voltage with my VOM which was within spec and the unit operates in climate controlled basement. I called Electrolux Service and was told that the unit is not serviceable and that they would refund my purchase price. I am torn between getting a similar unit due to the poor service life but have found it difficult finding other brands with the 5 year compressor warrantee. Any thoughts by others?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected. I bought this dehumidifier after doing some thorough research on which ones were the best – the quietest, the strongest, the ones with coils that won't frost over in my basement (like the last two I owned). In fact, I am one of the stingiest, toughest customers to please out there. Well, I am happy to say that this dehumidifier is better than even I expected it to be. In the three short months I've owned it, I'm pleased that it's quiet, it's tough, and its coils haven't frosted over yet - and I really hope they don't. So far, so good. I highly recommend this dehumidifier to people like me who are hard to please.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Results I bought this dehumidifier about a month ago to use in our basement. Within 24 hours the humidity was under control and the musty odor was gone. So far I have not seen any additional signs of mildew on any of the items stored in the basement or on the ceiling tiles. (Prior to turning on the dehumidifier we had cleaned or disposed of a number of items that were covered with mildew.) I chose to hook the dehumidifier up to a hose and let it run into a floor drain so as not to have to bother with emptying the collection pan. This is the first dehumidifier I've purchased so I have nothing to compare it to but I am extremely satisfied with its performance so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as described and very accurate ! I purchased two different units for my home and for my office. I have watched the humidity levels drop in both place dramatically since the units were put into place. I have direct hose connected to the office unit and never have to drain the catch bucket which is nice since nobody is around on the weekends. I empty the drain bucket daily at the house and am amazed at the amount of water that is being removed from the air in the house ! The units are now cycling and keeping the house and office at a comfortable 50% humidity and I have even verfified separate rooms with humidity monitors. Rated 4 out of 5 by from very dependaple I had this dehumidifier in my basement for the last 3 months now, and it has been working continuously, It helped me stop the mold problem that I had in my basement. I especially like the feature that allows me to drain the water directly into a drain. without that I would have had to empty the water take once or twice a day. One thing that I don't quiet like is the that it's a bit noisy. Also I later found out that there is another model that has a pump which makes it possible to drain the water into something higher like a sink, I would have bought that model if I knew about it earlier. Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good After extensive online research and reading of reviews, I purchased this to dehumidify a cellar in a pre Civil War house at the same time we added air conditioning to the living area. Instructions and setup are clear/easy. I am draining into a condensate pump which will pump the water outside. With the drain attachment and a short piece of used hose, running the drain was quite easy. Controls and settings are intuitive and easy to customize for my purposes. I cannot comment on longevity or effectiveness under extreme humidity of summer months since it hasn't been used in those conditions yet. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gets the job done! We purchased this about a month ago for our basement bedroom (approximately 300 sq'). It was starting to smell "musty" and decided we needed a dehumidifier. After researching several models, we decided on the Frigidaire FFAD7033R1. We ran it steady for 3 days, then set the humidity range to 55%. It periodically runs to sense the humidity level and then either turns off or starts dehumidifying. We were somewhat concerned about the impact on our electric bill, but it appears that it cost about 40-50 cents a day. It sure gets the job done and is energy efficient! Very happy with is product. Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so good! We bought this dehumidifier a month ago using the rebate Frigidaire gave us for the previous model that was defective. While we were reluctant at first to buy another Frigidaire product, this one was highly rated by other customers. Due to the failure of our previous unit, our basement was really musty smelling. When we installed the new dehumidifier, it worked so well that we were emptying the bucket every few hours! However, the unit has performed well and continues to remove moisture from the air. We are satisfied with this new model and thankful that Frigidaire stands by its products. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
