Rated 5 out of 5 by jeffinohio from Recommended for energy savings and quality I have bought 12 of these since August. With regard to the heat pump and heating a 15 X 18 room they are still being used and doing the job mid January in Ohio. Granted it has been a warm winter but we have had some single digit nights. Most of these have yet to be used for air conditioners and cooling but the few that were worked very well in August and September. They have cut the energy bills and that was the hope so I am very happy with them at this point. My initial thought was the savings would be in the fall and spring by avoiding using the propane heat and they have gone beyond that. At this point I am very happy and if they hold up that will continue. They appear to be well made and are easy to use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by THE BUG from It keeps the room too Cool. I Bought this product back in March of 2015 to put in my new game room... It cools the room down to 72 Degrees like the instructions say and works good. I just need to be able to set it at a higher Degree so its not so cold in the game room... I would recommend this product to people if one could change the temp for 72 to a higher room temperature. On the Question of "Where did you you purchase a new appliance?" My Ans is wrong but it's the only choice I could see to click on... My Ans. would be, "I am Building a Extra Game room on to my Regular Home." You need to adjust your answers.. for that particular Question.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CAB5 from Nice Unit This unit fits the 12x12 room I put it in very well. I like its many features including the supplemental heat. Would be nice if it could switch between cooling and heating automatically. At this time of year daytime temps are in the 80's and night time in the 50's. I like to keep it at 68 degrees. Yes, it does cool and at times is slow to keep up with the cooling. I wish that when on cooling the fan would shut off when the temperature is reached and periodically check with fan - it keeps going and going even when the temp in the room has lowered to 60 degrees, and so I have to manually change it to heating mode, then in the morning manually change it back to cooling. So far, a few weeks of operation, I haven't seen any water draining anywhere. In fact I have a humidifier in the room to keep it at 50% and still no drainage - not sure why. Leaving the entry door open is the only way to attempt to have conditioned air into this space. Decided to purchase and install an 8000 BTU heat pump window unit to heat and cool this area. Installation was straight forward, do recommend you purchase an external support bracket to take the load off the window sash. I sleep so much better not worrying about a space heater at night and summer time it's bearable to sleep in the boys' room! Even in really cold weather in wasn't supposed to be efficient and it has worked great. Only when the temp has been below 0 degrees have I had to gwt the old space heater out. I decided on the fridgidaire because of the price and the name (fridgidaire is a quality brand).. I couldn't be more happy.. it cools the room off in no time at all (I went with a little larger unit for the space, I suggest you should too).. easy to install and the features and quality are great.. When the temperature outside is up, and it has been some and will be during several weeks this summer, I am confident it will make economical comfort. It has proven itself already.
