A great cooking experience on a new range starts before the first preheat. Getting accurate measurements ensures your new slide-in stove fits seamlessly and safely into your kitchen—no gaps, no surprises—just the smooth, built‑in look you love.

1. Don’t Forget Counter Overhang
Most slide‑in ranges are designed for 30-inch-wide openings. Measure the width at the front, middle and back of the cutout. Look for a countertop overhang—not so much at the front but on the sides! Not every kitchen has these overhangs, but if yours does it matters. Only use the narrowest (smallest) measurement.
2. Height Matters More Than You Think
While height isn’t usually a concern, floor and cabinet leveling are because they impact height. Slide-in ranges’ adjustable legs can overcome minor variations, but some older homes may be way out of whack and require repair to bring the space close to level. Measure from the floor to the top of the counter on both the left and right sides, front and back. Also, place a marble or small ball at different points in the empty cutout to test leveling. The point it rolls to is the low spot.
If your kitchen was renovated, the old flooring in the cutout may be a different material—and thus different height—from the new flooring in the rest of the kitchen. If the stove’s front legs are on new flooring, the front of the range may sit higher or lower than the rear.

4. Check Your Power Connection Location
This is the detail many people, unfortunately, discover after delivery. Ensure your 240V receptacle for electric and induction or gas line for gas units falls within the recommended clearance zone listed on the stove’s spec sheet. If it doesn’t, your range may fit physically—but not safely. A little measuring now means cooking with confidence later. You can check range specifications on our website and the stove’s spec sheet to ensure it will be an easy install that will elevate your kitchen in Frigidaire fashion.
