Unfortunately, a DisappointmentI bought this model because it seemed like a simple, dependable refrigerator that would be easy to use as I get older and less able to reach things too high or too low. After only 6 weeks the seal started detaching from the freezer door and icicles are forming in the freezer. I'm having a hard time getting one of the few authorized repairman to come look at it, and I live in a decent size city. Also, it seems the ice cream is either so hard I can't scoop it, or it's like soft serve - very inconsistent. And, the wire shelves are not sturdy enough causing some things to fall over, including a pitcher of juice.

NOT THE BEST refrigeratorI bought this a month ago when my old one quit. This one was the cheapest price I could find with the size that fit my kitchen. I wish I had looked at it further before I bought it. It is nothing like the picture; only has 3 shelves and 2 of those are the wire kind so that you cant set anything on it that doesn't have a flat bottom. It doesn't even have a drawer in it for lunch meats/cheeses; I had to use the old one from my old refrigerator. If I had to do it over again, I would look harder. It does well with keeping things cold and the freezer works well. It is kinda loud---it sounds like an air compressor when it comes on.

Big Fish from
Get What You Pay ForThis refrigerator was purchased by my company to replace a very old side-by-side that passed away. We were looking for an inexpensive replacement. This Frigidaire suits our purposes. It is one of the smaller refrigerator but is adequate for our office needs. Easy to operate, works well, delivered promptly. This refrigerator has plastic wire shelves that allow small items to fall through - we would have preferred solid glass shelves. Another issue is the door shelves - there is quite a gap - so, small items (i.e. horseradish jar) can fall out. Overall, we are happy with our purchase. Great, basic fridge!Purchased this after my thirty-year-old Whirlpool finally gave up the ghost. Great little fridge; basic, no-frills operation. Roomy and super cold. Would absolutely recommend to others. Only frustration [and not with this particular model - just generally across the appliance industry] is that it seems product dimensions have evolved over time; I was unable to find any model which fit perfectly in my space and matched the dimensions of my old fridge. Pleased with this purchase and am looking forward to years of quality usage. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Pleased it works. We had decided to put a simple refrigerator into our garage to hold extras for large gatherings, etc. That decision was rushed when our main fridge broke and we needed to rescue its holdings, waiting for its repair 3 days away. No comparison shopping done, we simply called and asked what could be delivered the same day, relying on the store for quality. The first FFTR1814QW delivered never cooled and we lost everything we had been trying to salvage. The store "switched it out". The second one (same model) works like a champion! The first one was definitely a lemon and hopefully a one-in-a-million fluke. I am pleased with this one -- it works well.

Beyond Great2 weeks prior to needing a fridge I bought 2 new air conditioners made by Frigidaire, ( I had double lung surgery so breathing for me is an adventure ) when my old fridge died I did my homework looked at many many fridges and decided to buy the Frigidaire brand, it was simple to my needs easy to clean and works awesome. 2 weeks later my gas stove died so I bought a new Frigidaire 5 top burner and I love every bit of it, I'm super amazed by the quality and performance of my fridge, stove and air conditioners that say Frigidaire and I pass it on to friends when they are in the market for appliances. If fridge doesn't cool, check the fan in the freezWe got fridge home to the guest house, plugged it in, freezer got cold but not fridge part. My husband said he could not hear the fan, so he pulled the panel in the back of the freezer and found the fan that pushes the cold air down in the fridge had not been plugged in. He plugged it in and it works fine. Is quite a bit louder when it is running than my LG but for the price we can put up with it.
If he had not known what was wrong we would have had to call customer service and go thru all that hassle. Appliances sure aren't made like they use to be, nor is there any quality control. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Too new for full reviewBought less than a month ago-not overly impressed. Crackling and popping noises when cycling on. Now know this has been an issue, not horribly distracting & getting used to it but it shouldn't occur. Fridge portion seems too cold no matter the setting, but nothing has actually frozen YET! Doors require that you firmly close them by hand. My old Frigidaire required only gentle pushing while your hands were full and the doors would secure. Definitely not these, I keep double checking to be sure they are closed. Probably okay as a second unit due to the price point but this is my primary refrigerator.
