Unit works great for a few weeks, then gets loudThis is my second unit since the end of May. The AC works perfectly and then out of no where about 2 weeks in, the fan makes a loud whooshing noise on and off throughout the night waking me and my wife up each time. We bought the AC for the quietness. Unfortunately there has to be design flaw and we are so disappointed with our experience. It almost seems to be an airflow issue but don't know how to resolve it. I tried cleaning the filter and leaving the bottom cover off with no success. Plus I shouldn't have to do that with a brand new unit. We are so frustrated :( [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Quiet does not last.I’m currently on my second a/c in less than a month. The unit starts off great then after about two weeks later while on the low speed setting the blower starts making a gusting wind sound.i had the unit swapped out and followed the trouble shooting steps to no avail. I use this “quiet” unit in my nursery to keep the sound down. unfortunately when the fan is on the low setting is the time that this occurs the most. The gusting wind sound has been loud enough to wake my sleeping baby. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Great A/C wish you made it in a 5000 btu size!I live in a 1200 sq foot bungalow. My bed room is only 200 square feet so a 5000 btu would be a better size. I keep my 45 square foot closet door open to increase the square footage of the room. The 6000 btu cools extremely well and is wonderfully quiet. The room humidity is a little higher than I like and the A/C cycles on and off more than I like since this unit is a little over sized. I have removed the drain plug to decrease cooling efficiently and this helped a little. Since small rooms need extra quiet A/Cs, a 5000 btu unit of this model would be a no brainer. The only 5000 btu I could find for sale were cheap and loud!!!

So Far, So GoodI was looking for something to replace an air conditioner that we have had for eight years in the same bedroom location. I knew I definitely needed something that was quiet as this like my last unit would end up sitting about two feet from my sleeping head. In my extensive hunt for a new unit I came across a similar ac to this one sold at one of the big box stores that was considered to be one of the quietest ac’s on the market. In reading the reviews for that product, it had some flaws that were mentioned in almost every review that was a deal breaker for me. Once it would get really hot and humid the slinger fan would begin to make a lot of random water noises, the top outlet louvers were not adjustable vertically and the LED lights and temperature display was way too bright. I jumped and bought this new model in the hope that it would address these failings.
My installation is unconventional so I cannot comment on the way that this would typically be mounted within a window, but the included parts look of decent quality. Like my last unit I mounted this permanently in my window fabricating my own parts. It ended up looking great and solid, but was a project. One thing that made me buy this one over the similar model available at a big box store was the now added drain plug in the pan. I immediately removed this plug. I will gladly give up some energy efficiency to keep things quiet with a bedroom ac. This should prevent excessive water from being slinged onto the coils and the noises that it causes. While I have so far this season only needed ac a handful of times, I have not heard any strange water induced noises. The unit is very quiet especially when set to low fan. I also tend to keep it on the regular cooling mode to prevent the shutting down and restarting that occurs when set to the eco mode. When the compressor starts it does get louder, but is still the quietest that I have personally ever heard. So far there are no loud starting noises when the compressor kicks in. I am a light sleeper and so far it has not woken me.
This unit is used to cool a 15 foot by 15 foot bedroom. There is also an adjacent 10 foot x 10 foot sitting room through a three foot doorway. So far it has had no trouble getting both of these rooms downright cold if desired. The louvers on the output have a decent amount of adjustment to direct the air to were desired.
The one thing they have failed to address is the control panel brightness. Even when engaged in the sleep mode which dims the display it is way too bright. I have solved this by purchasing some LED dimming film and it works great, but you should not have to do this on a premium unit like this.
Also, for the cost of this unit the included remote control is extremely cheap and I would not expect it to last. I have ordered a universal ac remote which I am hoping will work with this model.
For my purposes this ac seems to be the ticket. I am hopeful that it will not develop any strange noise problems when things really heat and humid up later in the summer. It seems very well made, solid, gets cold and so far very quiet. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Very quiet (normally) but strange noises have starI bought this in the last few weeks and it has been performing well, until it recently started making strange noises. I can’t determine what’s causing it. Also, the remote touch pad keeps coming off - it’s cheaply made. Lastly, the LED lights are too bright at night - I have had to cover this up as they light up the room. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Super QuietSo far, I'm very pleased with the unit. Runs very quiet to the point that I actually have to look over to see if it's on. Like the polished design over most other AC's. My only cons to this point: (1) the display is very bright and actually lights up a dark bedroom...too bad there's not a brightness setting, and (2) the face of the remote keeps peeling off and won't stick to the circuit board...this pretty much happened on the day I installed it. Double-sided tape doesn't help, so will have to resort to super glue. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Starts making noise after first couple of weeksBought this a couple of weeks ago, it was great at first now it started making noises, and not the "normal" sounds its supposed to make (even though its marketed as quiet). Sounds like its constantly struggling. Not worth the money

Not thrilled! While this A/C is generally very quiet, it is prone to making strange noises, like the sound of rushing wind, sometimes rarely and sometimes almost all the time. This is distracting and keeps me from getting a good night's sleep. I usually don't have any problem with an a/c doing this, but am not happy with the sounds this one makes - it is constantly waking me up! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
