Rated 4 out of 5 by Iantheplumber from Great air conditioner, 3rd purchase. This is my 3rd purchase of this air conditioner in the past 10 years. The first and second are still going strong after nearly 10 years at my children’s mothers home. This third one is in my new home and does great! Buying online can be risky tho, as the one I bought a few months ago came damaged beyond use, and the warranted replacement came in better condition, but was also smashed (broken plastic) on the front corner. I didn’t complain, as it was much better than the last, but still pretty disappointed as a brand new appliance. Overall, it works great tho! I like my Frigidaire air conditioners. Rated 5 out of 5 by simspeak220 from Works like a charm I bought this air conditioner today for my (very) old apartment. The install was pretty easy but due to its' weight (80 lbs.) a helper would have been ideal. There is a lot of included insulation material as well which I was very happy about because that will make this a more efficient unit! As for its' operation it is a window air conditioner so it's obviously not silent but it is quieter than all the units i've used in the past. The temperature sensing remote was a nice touch too because you don't have to fiddle with the set point on the unit itself. Just tell the remote what temp you want it and have it nearby. Perfect for lazy people like me!

I would highly recommend a support bracket so you don't damage your window but that applies to any AC. We've had temps in the upper 80's with humidity close to 70% and it's kept the lower floor of my house extremely livable, which is what I bought this for. A friend stopped by and he thought my living room was cold!!! It was 88 degrees outside, I had it set to 69 degrees at the time. He also mentioned that his AC, also a 12,000 BTU, was much bigger than this unit. Bottom line is that this AC is doing what I need it to do and I couldn't be happier. Rated 2 out of 5 by furscape from Aready Having Problems I have had the A/C for just over a month and it already has a problem. The sensor or switch that tells it to turn on when the Temp gets to high stopped working after about 2-weeks. The only way it will turn on automatically is when using the remote's temp control feature. I let the temp get 10 degrees above the setting on the unit and it still will not turn on when using the units setting. I should note that it does turn off when using the unit setting it just won't turn back on. This is while it is set on the Econ mode. The unit does cool well and is fairly quiet. The reason I gave it 4 stars was because the remote gave me extra running around for a replacement After only 2 months the remote stopped working, I made several trips back to the store for a new remote (which took almost 2 weeks) and it still didn't work when I finally got the new one.. I called the store for.and set up a repair date for the A/C.. The day the repairman came, the remote deciding to work again. Now I just have to wait and see if everything will continue to work. I never had a problem with a remote before and I have purchase several A/C's [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by magicsalmon from Great Air-Conditioner After some poking around, we finally decided to purchase this unit. The best thing, of course, is that it blows super cool air into our living room, which was the point, of course. The unit feels solid and it makes us happy. I'm not sure how the thermostat works, but I'm always a bit curious that at times it can be beastly hot in our living room, but the air-conditioner won't turn on unless we turn it way down to 70 or so. Other times, it seems relatively cool, but the thing turns on, even though we have it set for 74 or 75. Seems odd, but we really aren't complaining. The unit works great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MsMort from Great purchase We bought this air conditioner as a replacement for an old and inefficient unit that came with our house when we bought it. Several things impressed us immediately. First, it was so much quieter than the old one. We could actually have a conversation in the same room in which the air conditioner was. And it didn't run all the time. At first, this concerned us but we learned that this was an energy saving feature. This A/C is cooling 3 large rooms and keeps them quite comfortable, even on hot (90 degree) days with high humidity (dew points of 70+) in Central NY. We love this machine!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Arel from Replacement Model Cooling Nicely -- For Now The original machine's keypad died three weeks into use, the remote was useless -- and it took the retailer (granted, not Frigidaire) a week during some oppressively hot July days to replace it. The new machine is working well... after two days' use. Am keeping fingers crossed regarding the keypad -- hope this is not a systemic problem. Perhaps I was sold a refurbished machine initially?
