          • How do I care and clean my Frigidaire Laundry Center?

            For the washer:
            • To prevent odors, remove clothing from the washer promptly.
            • Feel free to use a damp cloth or mild soap and water to clean the top and sides of the laundry center. Be sure to avoid hard, gritty or abrasive cleanser.
            • Dry the washer top, the area around the lid opening and the underside of the lid to prevent often to avoid moisture build-up.
            • When possible, to help prevent odors and humidity accumulation, leave the lid open for a little bit of time or when not in use.
            • When washing heavily soiled items, shake or brush off excess dirt or sand before putting in the washer. A dirty residue may remain in the tub, simply wipe it with a non-abrasive household cleaner, and then use the RINSE ONLY cycle.

            For the dryer:
            • Clean the lint filter after every load. Lint build-up on the filter restricts air flow, which causes longer drying times.
            • Occasionally a waxy build-up may form on the lint filter from using dryer-added fabric softener sheets. Simply wash the filter with warm, soapy water. Dry the filter thoroughly and put back in the dryer. DO NOT use the dryer without the lint filter in place.
            • Every 18 months, it is recommended to have a qualified service personnel clean the dryer cabinet interior and exhaust duct. These areas can collect lint and dust over time. An excessive amount of lint build-up can result in reduced drying performance.

          • What might cause my Laundry Center to vibrate?

If your Frigidaire Laundry Center was recently installed, here are a few tips that may address your issue:
            • The laundry center needs to be resting firmly on the floor. Check to ensure it is level (both front to back and side to side), with each leveling leg placed solidly on the floor. You can adjust the leveling legs by simply turning the legs slightly in or out until the laundry center is firmly on the floor, then tight the lock nuts. TIP: Leveling legs should not extend more than ½ inch below the laundry center bottom.
            • Shipping materials may not have been removed during the installation. Check your Installation instructions for more information.
            • The load may be off balance. Press START/PAUSE and wait for the washer lid to unlock. Redistribute the clothes evenly in the washer. TIP: If the load remains out of balance, simply add one or two similar items to the load – especially if it’s a smaller load - and restart the washer.

If you are unable to resolve an issue or need more information, please contact us.

          • Is it normal for my Frigidaire Laundry Center to make sounds or noises?

Some noises are perfectly normal with your Frigidaire Laundry Center.

            • When the lid lock becomes engaged or disengaged, you will hear a double click sound – just locking the lid.
            • Heavier loads occasionally cause a thumping sound at the beginning of the spin cycle – no worries!
            • Check for belt buckles or other fasteners on clothing items being washed or dried that may cause rattling or clanking sounds. TIP: Fasten these items or turn your clothing inside out to reduce sounds.
            • Check the pockets! Rattling and clanking can also be caused by loose or foreign objects such as coins in the washer tub or dryer drum.
            • Simply stop the washer or dryer and check for any objects. If you don’t find anything and the noises continue, try running an empty load to see if the noise persists. This will allow you to determine if the noise is coming from the washer, dryer or an article of clothing.

            Specifically for your dryer:
            • The dryer drum is supported by a set of suspension rollers. At times there may be a thumping or rolling sound when the dryer starts. This may happen if the dryer has not been in use for a period time, or after a heavy load has remained in the dryer drum for an extended period time. The noise should go away as the dryer operates.
            • Your dryer is equipped with a high volume air handling system. In some cases there may be sounds associated with air movement throughout the dryer, including the air duct, blower, and exhaust system. This is normal and can vary with the load size.
            • For Gas models: You may hear a clicking sound during operation as the valve opens and closes to control the gas flow.
            • For Gas models: When the gas burner is operating, there may be sounds generated as the air flow mixes with the gas flame. This noise is normal and will only occur when the gas is ignited.

          • What should I do if my Frigidaire Laundry Center is not filling with water properly?

If you recently installed your Frigidaire Laundry Center, here are a few things to consider: High-efficiency washers are designed to use less water and energy. It is normal for the water level to appear lower than what you may have experienced with an older unit. Most Frigidaire Laundry Centers rely on sensory technology and will determine the proper water level for each load – water will enter the washer tub once the sensory cycle is complete (which can a few minutes).

If water is flowing to your washer slowly or isn’t flowing at all, you might find a solution below:
            1. Hot and cold water faucets. Be sure your water supply faucets are completely open.
            2. Water-fill hoses. Check your water hoses to see if they might be kinked. If so, simply straighten the hoses.
            3. Water pressure. Your washer needs sufficient water pressure to fill. Check to see if water is being used elsewhere in your home such as shower, bath and dishwasher while the washer is trying to fill.
            4. Washer lid. Make sure the lid is completely closed. Your washer will not operate with the lid open.
            5. Filter on water valve. If the filter screens on your water valve are clogged, turn off your water faucets and remove the hoses from the valve connections. Clean the filter screens and then reconnect the hoses; turn on the water.
            6. Drain hose standpipe.Check to ensure the drain hose standpipe is at the correct height – to ensure the drain hose standpipe is at the correct height – it must be a minimum of 33” high to prevent siphoning.

For laundry loads needing extra water, some Frigidaire Laundry Centers have the Max Fill feature. Pressing the Max Fill button adds the maximum amount of water possible, and will increase the duration of the cycle time.

If you are unable to resolve an issue or need more information, please contact us.

          • What should I do if my Frigidaire Laundry Center is not starting?

There probably is simple solution to getting your Frigidaire Laundry Center running as it should. Whether your unit was just installed or you have been using for a while, we recommend checking the following:

            • Ensure the power cord fits tightly in the wall outlet and you are getting power to your washer. If no power, check to ensure a house fuse isn’t blown or the circuit breaker tripped.
            • Your Frigidaire Laundry Center should be on its own circuit breaker and not shared with other outlets or appliances.
            • Check to make sure the water supply faucets are turned on.
            • Make sure the unit is level.

If everything checks out okay – let’s try these tips:Check the lid.

Make sure the washer lid and/or dryer door are closed – laundry center will not start if the lid or door is open.
                • Press Start.Don’t forget to press the START/PAUSE button after making your selections.
                • Load sensing. With most Frigidaire Laundry Centers, the first 2 minutes of the cycle are spent sensing the size of the load so you may not hear the water filling right away. Water will start to enter the tub once the sensory cycle is complete.
                • Cycle may be paused. If the cycle initially started but appears to have stopped, your washer may just be in a pause stage. This is perfectly normal, a pause will occur between the Wash and Spin cycles with an additional pause during the Soak cycle.

If you are unable to resolve an issue or need more information, please contact us.

          • What should I do if my Frigidaire Laundry Center is not properly heating or drying?

If your Frigidaire Laundry Center was recently installed, here are few things to note: Specifically for gas models, make sure the gas supply valve is open and the dryer has enough air supply to support the burner flame. Electric models should be connected a 240 volt circuit. If your electric dryer is connected to a 208 volt circuit, your drying times will be increased 20%. Check your installation instructions for more information.

            Additional tips to try:

            • Check that you have selected the appropriate temperature setting for your load. If you load is too big, it will take longer for your clothes to dry.
            • Check that your dryer has proper ventilation.
            • Clean the lint filter after every use. Do not use the dryer on your laundry center if the lint filter is blocked, damaged or missing.
            • Ensure the exhaust duct is not restricted.
            • Make sure to leave room for the items in the dryer to tumble freely so you can avoid damp areas on your clothing. It’s recommended to fill the drum 1/3 to ½ full. This also helps reduce wrinkling.
            • Drying times may also be increased in areas with high humidity.

If you are unable to resolve an issue or need more information, please contact us.

          • The water level in my Frigidaire Laundry Center does not cover my laundry load. Is this normal?

High-efficiency Laundry Centers are designed to use less water and energy. It is perfectly normal for the water level to appear lower than what you may have experienced with an older top load washer. Most Laundry Centers rely on sensory technology and will determine the proper water level for each load – water will enter the tub once the sensory cycle is complete (this may take a few minutes).

For laundry loads needing extra water, some Frigidaire Laundry Centers have the Max Fill feature. Pressing the Max Fill button adds the maximum amount of water possible, and will increase the duration of the cycle time. The Max Fill feature is not recommended for regular day-to-day use but more on an as needed basis.

          • Why does my Frigidaire Laundry Center beep or have blinking lights?

Most alarms or beeps are designed to alert of you of changes in your Laundry Center or an action on your part is required.

Here are some normal operating beeps or blinking lights:

            For the washer:
            • Beep(s) will occur when you select your washing cycles and settings for each load
            • Beep(s) will occur when you Pause a laundry load and the display will blink
            • “Close Washer Lid” will illuminate if the washer lid is open. Just close the washer lid before starting the washer.
            • “Balance Load” will illuminate if the wash load is unbalanced in the tub during the wash cycle. Pause the washer and redistribute the wash load.

            For the dryer:
            • Beep(s) will occur when you start a drying cycle before the drum begins to rotate.
            • Beep(s) will occur when you Pause a laundry load.
            • “Close Dryer Door” will illuminate if the dryer door is open. Just close the dryer door before starting the dryer.
            • “Clean Lint” will illuminate and in some models blink after EACH drying cycle. Clean the lint filter after every use. “Clean Lint” may remain blinking as part of normal operations even after you have cleaned the filter.

          • What should I do if the washer on my Laundry Center Washer is not spinning?

There are a few simple things you can try if your Laundry Center washer tub is not spinning. Sometimes when a load is out of balance, it may prevent your washer from spinning. You can easily rearrange the items in your load to allow proper spinning. If it’s a smaller load, try adding one or two similar items to help balance the load.

If you are unable to resolve an issue or need more information, please contact us.

          • What should I do if my Frigidaire Laundry Center is leaking?

If water is leaking from your washer, check the list below:

            • Is the drain clogged? If so, it will need to be cleaned; you may need to contact a plumber.
            • Is the drain hose restricted or out of the standpipe? If it is out of the standpipe, you will need to secure it. You can do this by bending the end to form a hook, placing the hooked end into the standpipe, and tying the hose to the standpipe or a faucet with a cable tie (one was supplied with the washer), strong filament tape or duct tape.
            • Are the fill-hose connections loose or cross-threaded at the faucet or washer? Check by realigning the threads, make sure that the rubber sealing washers are in good shape and seated properly, and tighten the hose connections. If they are loose, you might need to reinstall or replace the rubber sealing washers.
            • Are you using a non-high-efficiency detergent or too much detergent or do you have soft water? Using a non-high-efficiency detergent or using too much detergent in soft water can cause suds to overflow the washer. This may seem like a leak if the suds flow or drip onto the floor. To avoid this, use an high-efficiency detergent, and reduce the amount of detergent you use if your water is soft.

If you are unable to resolve an issue or need more information, please contact us.

          • Why won’t my Laundry Center turn on?

            • The electrical supply cord may not be properly installed. Ensure that power is coming from the outlet and the electrical supply cord fits tightly in the wall. Your Laundry Center should be on its own circuit breaker and not shared with any other outlets or appliances.  Note: Do not use an extension cord. Depending on the quality of the extension cord and the length, the power may be greatly reduced and not allow the washer to perform properly.
            • The door or lid of the washer is open. For your safety, the door or lid of your washer must be completely closed for the washer to start.

          • Why does the water level seem low in my Laundry Center Washer?

            • Frigidaire High Efficiency Laundry Centers are designed to achieve excellent wash performance while using less water and energy. It is normal for the water level to appear lower than traditional washing machines.
            • For optimal water level, laundry must be added to the washer before starting the cycle. Frigidaire High Efficiency Laundry Centers rely on sensory technology to tune water levels and agitation cycles to your specific load size.

          • After I press the start button, when will water fill the tub?

With Frigidaire High Efficiency Laundry Centers, the first 2 minutes of the cycle are spent sensing the size of a load.  The water level, agitation intensity and vibration tuning are set based on the load size that is detected. Water will enter the tub once the sensory cycle is complete.

          • How can I fill my Laundry Center Washer with water before adding my laundry and detergent?

Always place your detergent and laundry in the tub first, before starting the cycles. Frigidaire High Efficiency Laundry Centers are designed to use less water and energy. To maximize efficiency, the first 2 minutes of the cycle are spent sensing the load. When the sensing cycle is complete, the optimal amount of water will be dispensed to achive efficient cleaning performance.

          • How can I ensure detergent and PODS do not leave residue on my clothes?

Be sure to add your detergent or POD to the bottom of the tub before adding your laundry. This will ensure that the chemicals are properly dissolved and mixed in the wash water.

          • How do I add Liquid Fabric Softener to my Laundry Center Washer?

            • Most Frigidaire Laundry Center washers are equiped with liquid fabric softener dispensers. If  your unit has a dispenser, simply pour fabric softener into the dispenser and make sure the Fabric Softener button or dial is in the “ON” position.
            • If your washer does not have a fabric softener dispenser, you can use third-party products like PODS or fabric softener balls that are designed to automatically dispense fabric softener at the appropriate time.
            • Never pour fabric softener directly into the tub.  If liquid fabric softener touches clothes directly, it could leave a stain that can be very difficult to remove.
            • For best results, add fabric softener  before starting the washer.

          • How do I make sure the water temperature in my Laundry Center washer is correct?

Note: High Efficiency Laundry Centers have controls that supply cooler water as a means to save energy. Water temperatures may seem cooler than traditional laundry centers.

            • Check that the hookups from the wall are attached to the correct inlet valve on your machine. There is an H for Hot and C for Cold embossed on the back of the unit for each hookups.

            • Check that you have selected the appropriate temperature setting for your load.

            • Measure hot water temperature at the washer or at a nearby faucet with a thermometer. It should read at least 120°F. If it does not, adjust your water heater.

          • What do I do if water is leaking from the back of my Laundry Center?

            • Ensure that your inlet hoses are properly tightened and that they have rubber grommets installed to seal againts the valve.
            • Ensure that you have both a cold and a hot inlet hose connected to the back of your Laundry Center. Using only a cold (or only a hot) supply hose will result in water backflow through the valve and onto the floor.

          • How long is the wash cycle on my Laundry Center?

The length of the wash cycle can vary depending on a number of factors including which cycle is selected. Typically, the Normal Cycle will take 60-80 minutes.

          • How can I reduce the Wash cycle time?

            • Sorting your laundry into smaller loads will help decrease the cycle time. For small loads of 10 items or less, try using the Quick Wash cycle which only takes about 23-28 minutes, depending on load size.
            • Ensure that your load is balanced by adding your detergent and laundry in the tub first, before starting the cycles. In the event that your washer encounters an unbalanced load,  it will perform an extra rinse cycle to re-balance. This can add about 10-30 minutes to the cycle. See the FAQ on how to avoid out-of-balance problems.
            • Make sure the washer is getting the recommended water pressure. If your water pressure is low it can take longer for the tub to fill with water, which adds time to the wash cycle.

          • What should I do if the washer on my Laundry Center beeps twice and won't start?

Double-check that the Laundry Center Washer lid is completely down. The washer will beep once and lock to begin the sensory cycle after the Start button is pressed.

          • Why did my Laundry Center stop during a cycle and give three long beeps?

            • This indicates that your Laundry Center has encountered an error during the cycle.  Double-check that your machine has been installed properly by running through the checklist in the Installation Guide.

          • How do I avoid Out-Of-Balance problems during the spin cycle?

            • If washing a single large item, like a pillow or a single pair of jeans, it can be difficult for the washer to balance during the spin cycle.  Adding 1 or 2 laundry items to the load will help to balance the weight during spin cycles.
            • In general, the more pieces of clothing in the load, the more likely it will be for the clothes to be evenly distributed, leading to a smooth, quiet spin.
            • If your unit has stopped due to an Out-of-Balance load, you can open the lid, rearrange the load to more evenly distribute the weight, then hit press the cycle selector to pick up where it left off.
            • In the event that your washer has trouble balancing a load it will perform an extra rinse cycle to re-balance. This can add about 10-30 minutes to the cycle.

          • Do I have to use High Efficiency (HE) rated detergents in my Laundry Center?

We strongly recommend that you use HE-rated detergent. Frigidaire Laundry Centers are High Efficiency machines that use significantly less water than traditional washing machines. HE- rated detergents are designed for lower water levels.

          • How can I reduce the dry cycle time on my Laundry Center Dryer?

            • Clean the lint screen after every use. You should also check the exhaust duct to ensure it is free from clogs.
            • Make sure you have a proper load size in the dryer. If your load is too big or too small, it will take longer for your clothes to dry.
