Check the lock knob to ensure it is in the unlocked position.
First, check to be sure the appliance is plugged in. If it is, be sure both the grill plates are in the correct position and properly secured. If you are using the ‘panini’ mode, select either the Low, Medium or High temperature (left knob). If you are using the ‘griddle’ mode, be sure you have set the temperature for both plates (middle and right knobs).
You will need to select either ‘panini’ or ‘griddle’ mode using the mode control knob. In ‘panini’ mode, both grill plates will be heated to Low, Medium or High, based on the selected setting. In ‘griddle’ mode, you will need to use the dual temperature controls to set each plate to the desired temperature.
The lid height adjustment and lock knob is located on the side of the unit. To adjust, rotate the knob clockwise (toward the back of the unit)
Be sure the plates are cool before attempting to remove them. Open the 5-in-1 Grill and Griddle to the flat position and press the release buttons located on the side of the unit. Left each plat up and out from under the metal tabs.
For use as a griddle or table-top grill, press the open-flat hinge release button on the side of the unit while grasping the handle. Rotate the lid all the way open until the handle rests on the table or counter.
The power indicator light should be illuminated when the mode is set to ‘low’, ‘medium’, ‘high’ or ‘griddle’ if either plate temperatures has been set. The power indicator light will not illuminate when the mode control is turned to ‘panini’ or to ‘off’.
