Products that are Energy Star® qualified are equivalent to or better than standard products, with one important difference: They use less energy. To earn the Energy Star rating, products must meet strict energy criteria set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency or the U.S. Department of Energy. These products can help lower your electricity bill and protect the environment by reducing harmful emissions from power plants, as well as providing all the features and quality you expect.
When shopping for an appliance, it’s easy to recognize the Energy Star label that identifies qualified products. This label signifies that the product passed stringent standards set by the U.S. Department of Energy. Additionally, manufacturers are required to display their product’s test results on the Energy Star label. The label will tell you about the product’s efficiency level, including approximately how much energy the appliance uses, its average annual operating cost, and how its energy use compares with that of similar products.
For optimal care of your washer, please refer to the guidelines included in your Complete Owner's Guide. However, here are some quick tips:
Most models have a System Clean Cycle or Clean Washer Cycle and will automatically prompt you to run the cycle every 50 wash cycles. This feature uses hot water and two rinses to remove any odor-causing residue in your washer. Your Complete Owner’s Guide will provide more information.
Frigidaire recommends using a High-efficiency (HE) detergent for front load washers. HE detergents are designed for front load washers like ours, which use lower water levels. They are also formulated to reduce soap suds and ensure proper cleaning.
Non-HE detergents may cause excessive generation of soap suds and result in detergent residue on your clothing at the end of the cycle.
Always refer to your detergent manufacturer’s instructions for the proper dosage. Do not fill any compartments in your dispenser beyond the maximum amount line.
We do not recommend the use of detergent pods with our front load washers. We are unable to guarantee the pod will dissolve at the correct time during the wash cycle to ensure proper cleaning performance. If pods are used, please place the pod directly into the washer drum BEFORE placing laundry into the unit. This will help mix the detergent into the water. Do not place the pod in the detergent drawer as the gel coating may cause the detergent drawer to become clogged.
Based on your detergent choice, here are some helpful tips:
Liquid: Add the recommended amount of a high-efficiency liquid detergent to the Main Wash – Liquid Only cup. Do not exceed the MAX fill line.
Powder: To use a high-efficiency powder detergent, remove the Main Wash – Liquid Only cup and add the powder directly to the Main Wash detergent chamber. It’s important to save the liquid cup insert in case you need it for future use.
Pods: Place the pod directly into the washer drum BEFORE placing laundry into the unit.
NOTE: We do not recommend the use of detergent pods with our front load washers. We are unable to guarantee the pod will dissolve at the correct time during the wash cycle to ensure proper cleaning performance.
Liquid Bleach: If desired, add liquid chlorine bleach to the chamber labeled Liquid Bleach.
Liquid Fabric Softener: If desired, pour the recommended amount of liquid fabric softener into the chamber labeled Fabric Softener.
Stain Additives: For heavily soiled or stained loads, select a Stain option and add the recommended amount of detergent or stain additive to the Pre-Wash chamber. See Cycle Options in your Complete Owner’s Guidefor more information about the Stain options for your model.
NOTE: Always refer to your detergent manufacturer instructions for the proper dosage. Do not fill any compartments in your dispenser beyond the maximum amount line.
Some Frigidaire Front Load Washers come with a variety of wash options. You can refer to your Complete Owner’s Guide for more information.
When choosing a water temperature, these are the basic points to consider:
To compensate for a cooler wash, it may be necessary to soak or prewash heavily soiled items, increase wash time, or use additional laundry products to boost the detergent’s cleaning power. Your Complete Owner's Guide will provide more information and helpful tips.
To protect your fabrics, not all temperatures are available with every cycle. If a temperature is not appropriate for the cycle, it cannot be selected.
All wash water temperatures are automatically regulated to maximize detergent effectiveness and improve washing performance. The water temperature can be affected by a variety of factors, including the water heater setting and its distance from the washer, water usage in other parts of the home, and seasonally low ground water temperature in some geographic areas.
To increase the water temperature for your washer, look into the following:
If your washer is vibrating, it may be due to installation issues related to one of the following:
If you are unable to resolve an issue or need more information, please contact us.
It is normal for a heavy wash load to occasionally produce a thumping sound at the beginning of the Spin cycle. Belt buckles or other metal fasteners on items being washed may cause rattling or clanking sounds, too. You can fasten these items or turn garments inside out to reduce the sounds.
Rattling or clanking may also be caused by foreign objects (such as coins) in the drum. If you think this is the cause, stop the washer and check for any objects in the drum. If none are present and the sound continues, we recommend running an empty load to see if the noise persists. This will allow you to determine if the noise is coming from the unit or an article that was being washed. If the noise is still present during the empty load, please contact us.
If your washer does not start, check the following:

Your Frigidaire Front Load washer will automatically determine the proper water level for each load, you don’t have to do anything to adjust it. Because this type of washer is water efficient, it’s normal for the water level to always be below the bottom of the door.
Frigidaire Front Load washers are designed to both maximize water usage and the cleaning of your laundry. You will notice significantly less water usage in your front load washer than you are used to seeing in other units, especially top-load washers. The addition of extra water may actually result in your laundry not being cleaned as well. Tumbling action and recirculating pumps help distribute the water and detergent to clean your laundry more efficiently.
If you are unable to resolve an issue or need more information, please contact us.
If water is flowing into your washer, but the drum does not fill, it might be because of one of the following reasons:
If you have additional questions please refer to your Installation Instructions or you may contact us.
If water is flowing into your washer slowly or isn’t flowing in at all, you might find a solution by checking the following:

Yes, it is normal for a small amount of water to remain in the dispenser drawer. This is a result of the siphoning action and part of the operation of the washer. If you like, you can simply remove the dispenser drawer and empty the water. Don’t forget to regularly clean your dispenser drawer to prevent clogs and buildup. For more information, please refer to your Complete Owner’s Guide in the Care and Cleaning section.

If your load is out of balance, it may prevent the washer from spinning. Rearrange the items in your load to allow proper spinning, possibly adding one or two similar items to help balance the load.
A If the load is comprised of items that cannot be distributed around the drum, such as a single pillow or stuffed animal, the washer will not spin. Additional items will need to be added to the unit to better balance the weight of the load.

For your safety, the lid of a top load washer cannot be opened during the spin cycle. To open it, simply stop the washer and wait 1 to 3 minutes for the safety lock to open.
On a front load washer, the door will be locked during the entire wash cycle. Before tumbling starts, you can stop the washer and then wait for the water to drain off the window before opening the door. To open the door during the spin cycle, stop the washer and wait 1 to 3 minutes for the lock to release—do not force the door open.
For your safety, your washer’s door will be locked during the entire Wash cycle. However, if you need to add a forgotten item to the washer anytime during the wash portion of the cycle, press Pause. The door will then unlock as long as the water level is safely below the door opening. When the door unlocks, open the door, add the item, close the door and press Start to resume the cycle. To stop the cycle, press Cancel.
NOTE: If the cycle is interrupted during the Spin cycle, the door will not release until the tub has stopped spinning. DO NOT force the door open.
If the water level is at or above the bottom of the door, to prevent water spilling on your floor the door will remain locked even if the cycle is paused or cancelled. To drain the unit, cancel the cycle and select the Rinse and Spin cycle, then select No Spin as the spin speed and deselect the Extra Rinse option. This will prompt the washer to simply drain the water from the drum, and then the cycle will end. Once the cycle is completed (in a couple of minutes), the door will unlock.
