How do I improve my baking results with my Frigidaire range?

You may be surprised to learn your bakeware can impact your baking results. By using the proper rack position, you can improve your baking results - - especially if you are baking on multiple racks. Your Owner’s Manual has great tips and tricks to optimize your baking performance and recommended rack positions based on food type. For more information or tips to try, review the “Before You Call” section of your Owner’s Manual if you are experiencing any issues with your baking performance.

How do I limit the amount of smoke when using the ReadyCook™ Air Fry Tray?

Air Fry uses superheated air to cook food fast and make it crunchy. Although Air Fry uses hot air to cook, remember that you are still frying your food so it gets crispy! When some high-fat or greasy foods (like fresh wings) meet that hot air inside an oven, some smoke is normal. If Air Fry is making a lot of smoke, try these tips:

  • When using the Air Fry Tray, put a baking sheet on a rack or two below the Air Fry Tray. This keeps drips and crumbs from landing on the oven bottom, where they can burn and create smoke. For additional protection, place some foil-lined parchment paper on the baking sheet. Parchment paper traps oil and keeps it from smoking.
  • Use cooking oils that can stand up to a high temperature like avocado, grapeseed, and peanut oils. Cooking sprays made from these oils are available at the grocery store.
  • Keep foil, parchment paper, and bakeware of the bottom of the oven. The oven bottom needs to stay clear so air can circulate.
  • Don’t overcrowd the food on your baking sheet or on the Air Fry Tray. If air can’t circulate around each item, the cooking and crisping process may slow down and allow more grease to settle or drip.
  • If your catch-tray is smoking, try placing parchment paper on it to hold grease. For extra moist foods, you may have to use more.
  • Some foods, like fresh wings and some vegetables, have a lot of moisture and may drip more than you expect. For items that might drip, use a pan with low sides if you’re not using an Air Fry Tray.
  • Air Fry uses superheated air, so if your oven bottom already has drips or crumbs on it (it happens!), those can smoke. Keep your oven bottom clean.
  • If you have an oven vent, use it when cooking with Air Fry, like you would when using the cooktop.

How do I insert and remove my racks from my Frigidaire range?

The type of racks in your range may vary by model. Based on your appliance, your Owner’s Manual provides a description of various types of racks. Most racks can simply be removed by pulling the oven rack straight out until it reaches the stop position. Tilt up the front of the oven rack to slide past the stop position and pull the rack out of the oven cavity. To insert the rack, rest the oven rack evenly between a left and right front guide along the oven walls so that the oven rack rests level. Tilt front of the rack upward and slide rack in past the stop position. Then bring the rack to a level position and slide the rack completely inside the oven.

To keep your oven racks gliding smoothly when you’re removing or inserting them, we recommend applying cooking oil along their outer edges.

If your oven is equipped with the Effortless Oven Rack system, you can refer to your Owner’s Manual for specific instructions. The Effortless Oven Rack system will automatically partially extend the oven rack from the interior oven glides to assist in easier access to your food items. This feature works whenever the oven door is opened or closed. IMPORTANT: Only the Effortless Oven Rack system should be used in the oven rack position 2. Placing any other rack in the oven rack position 2 will prevent the oven door from fully closing and may damage the oven door, oven cavity or the door connector brackets.

How do I clean my Frigidaire range?

Your Owner’s Manual provides helpful tips regarding care and cleaning for your range to include the exterior and interior components such as knobs, stainless steel, racks, door and cooktop, etc. You can also purchase cleaners directly. If your appliance has Smudge Proof Stainless Steel, use a soft cloth, clean with a mild dish detergent and water or a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water. Rinse with clean water, dry with a soft clean cloth. Do not use appliance cleaner, stainless steel cleaner or cleaner containing abrasives, chlorides, chlorine or ammonia. These cleaners may damage the finish.

How do I set my oven or range to self-clean?

To self-clean your oven, follow these simple steps:

  1. Remove the oven racks.
  2. Set your oven control to clean.
  3. Select a cleaning time or choose a cleaning level: light, medium, or heavy soiled. For typical cleaning needs, we recommend that you select a cleaning time of three hours or choose the medium soiled setting.
  4. Select Start. (To set a delayed start, see your use and care manual.)

Note: For safety reasons, the oven door will remain locked until the oven cools down. When it is sufficiently cool, the door will automatically unlock.

What does the Lock feature do and how can I activate it?

Your appliance may be equipped with the ability to Lock the oven door and display controls. To set the oven Lock feature (instructions may vary by model – check your Owner’s Manual for more details):

Press OFF and hold for 6 seconds. Lock will appear in the display, the door locked indicator light will flash, and the door lock will begin to close. Allow about 15 seconds for the oven door to lock. Once the oven is locked, the current time of day will appear in the display.

To cancel the oven Lock feature, press Off and hold for 6 seconds. The control will unlock the oven door and resume normal operations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super fast and very accurate No gas where we live, found induction to beat both gas and standard electric cooking. Induction is fast, it heats quickly. Its accurate with a broad temperature range. The cook surface is easy to clean up as it remains cool except where the pan is set. It's safe as the burner shuts down when no pans are in contact with it. Induction suitable pans are available at reasonable price. It does everything well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 4 service calls in 6 weeks I bought this week before Christmas. Broke 12/28. Waiting on parts. Next parts due 1/28/20. Worst purchase I have ever made. How about a replacement since you can’t fix this one

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Range Purchased the Frigidaire Induction Range with air fry to complete our kitchen renovation a couple months ago. I have been thoroughly impressed with this stove. I like the fact that it is a glass top range, and that it uses induction to heat the pans. To me, that is much safer, and more energy efficient. The air fry feature works well too. We have air fried whole chicken, fish fillets, and even potatoes. The results have been excellent. I would highly recomend this range.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Stove I have had this stove since December. It replaced a flat top stove. The old one heated the whole kitchen when a pot was removed from an element. It took a long time to heat up and a long time to cool down. The convection oven blasted hot air in my face when the door was opened and also heated the kitchen. This stove is a pleasure to use. The induction top heats and cools very rapidly. When the oven door is opened the fan stops and the food can be checked or removed comfortably. The old stove would set off the smoke alarm when the door was opened. I have not yet used the Air Fry feature as I am waiting to obtain the Air Fry tray which seems to be back ordered. Since receiving this stove I have been inspired to cook and bake again. It is such a pleasure. I highly recommend the purchase of this Fridgedaire appliance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great features I brought it a month ago and love the stove top. It heats up very quickly. You must be sure to use the correct cookware and make sure it is flat . What I do not like is that the controls are in the front. Everytime I reach for the microwave or cabinet above stove , I hit a button and sometimes turn on a burner. Controls are very sensitive, be careful when cleaning them. Another thing I do not like is the front of stove where the controls are. is a very large brushed nickel edge that will stretch very easily. Be careful when taking a baking sheet out of the oven and putting it on the stove top you might scratch the front lip. It takes a little getting use to having the controls on the front of the stove and not on the back of the wall. I have not had a chance to use the air fry feature yet. But looking forward to it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the induction cooking. The induction cooking is immediately responsive. If you have a boil over you can wipe it right up without it ever getting stuck on. Great oven features to bake or convection bake or air fry. Every thing has come out awesome!!
