Induction cooktops and ranges offer you a whole new way to cook.

Excellent performance

I have always cooked with a gas range.  When I moved, gas as not available.  I hated cooking with an electric stove top.  When the electric stove top broke, I looked into induction and, after much research, I selected the Frigidaire.  I am extremely happy with my selection.  Cooking is a pleasure again

Consistent Results

Even heat eliminates hot spots and delivers consistent results for creating delicious, evenly cooked foods like steaks and omelets.

Cool Cooktop, Simple Clean-up

Cool-to-the-touch cooktop generates heat directly to the pan, not the cooktop, so spills can't burn on.

Controlled Cooking

Adjusts from a powerful boil to a gentle simmer instantly - ideal for rice, soups and sauces.

Professional-Grade Controls

Heavy-duty knobs deliver precise temperature control, whether you're simmering, sautéing, searing or boiling.

Efficient Use of Power

The cooktop heats the pan directly so less heat is lost in the cooking process.

Cookware Compatible

Induction-friendly cookware includes most stainless steel or iron-based cookware. If a magnet sticks to the bottom of the cookware, it's compatible.

Questions & Reviews

What are the benefits of Induction?

Induction cooking directly heats the pan; heating will only begin when cookware is properly placed on the cooking zones. Fast and efficient - Induction cooking zones heat faster and use less energy. Induction power levels are quick to boil and they are efficient when simmering.

A cooler cooktop - A unique feature of the induction cooking zones is, whether it is turned on or off, the cooking zones remain cooler than radiant type elements. Virtually no wasted heat is produced since the heat begins with the presence of cookware.

Easy cleanups - The cooler cooking zones make cleanup easier. Spills resist sticking or burning so they wipe up easily.

Magnetic detector - The cooking zone has a sensor that automatically detects whether cookware is magnetic. This will reduce accidental “turn-ons.”

Pan size detection - The pan size recognition sensor automatically detects and adapts the induction cooking zones to the pan sizes in use for consistent, more even cooking.

More responsive - Induction cooking zones are more responsive than their electric or gas counterparts because only the pan heats. This type of cooking heats easier and will be just as responsive when reducing to a simmer.

What type of cookware do I use with Induction?

For the best possible surface cooking results, it is recommended to only use high quality heavy gauge cookware on the induction cooking zones. Be sure to follow all the manufacturer’s recommendations when using cookware made for induction cooking. To check if the cookware base material is suitable, use a magnet to test. If a magnet sticks to the bottom of the cookware, the material type is correct. The most common induction cookware types available are:

Stainless steel - Generally excellent for induction cooking plus it is durable, easy to clean and resists staining. However, it is important to note that not all stainless steel is magnetic.
Cast iron - Good for induction cooking. Cooks evenly. Do not slide cast iron cookware on cooktop. Cast iron cookware with a rough surface will scratch ceramic cooktop.
Porcelain-enamel coated metals - Heating characteristics will vary depending on quality of base material. Porcelain-enamel coating must be smooth to avoid scratching the ceramic cooktop.

Why does my Induction cooktop make noises when I’m cooking?

Some cookware can hum or buzz when used in induction cooking. The surface controls click as they work to create even cooking temps. Temp changes during preheat and cool-down can make parts of the cooktop expand and contract. Different fans run to cool down different parts of the cooktop, even when it’s off. These sounds are normal.

Can I 'mute' the audible tones on my appliance?

The option to silent audible tones may not be applicable on all models so you want to check your Owner’s Manual. For applicable models - When selecting a function on your display, an audible tone is heard each time a key is pressed. If you desire, the display can be programmed for silent operation. To set the controls for silent operation:

Press and hold Start Time for 6 seconds. The display will beep once and then you can release the key.
The controls are now set for silent operation.
To return your audible tones to normal operation:
Press and hold Start Time again for 6 seconds until the display beeps once and then you release the key.
The controls are now set for audible operation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fast & High Quality This stove works as advertised. It really is astounding just how quick it comes up to temp for being electric. We’ve owned ours for about five years and the glass top is showing signs of wear, but remains easy to clean and use. If there’s one quibble I have, it’s that one burner died recently and we found out it’s over $300 to repair. But we don’t regret the purchase because of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like the power. Like the knobs. This is a replacement for a 12 year old Kenmore induction. I always have trouble with touch sensitive controls, so I'm very happy to have found a cooktop with knobs. However, it is taking some time to become accustomed to the delay in the response - 2-3 seconds from when I adjust the knob to when the power level actually changes. I also like the power boost from my old cooktop - especially on the larger burner. I can really get a sear on food. All in all - very pleased with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Enhanced Cooking I have a couple of months with the product and it is working great. the change to the induction format has been great. Things heat up quicker, much greater transition and speed when going from high to low, etc. Makes cooking much easier. Cook top looks great also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convection convenience with gas like power Love, love this cooktop! I was used to gas. When with bought a condo I had to change to electricity. The regular cooktop just did not have enough power! I switched to this convection powerhouse! What a joy to cook with. It is intuitive and very responsive!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from faster than gas I have been fascinated by induction from the first time I ever heard of it. We bought a little one burner a year ago just to try it out. We were so happy we started looking around for a replacement for our slow and inefficient cooktop. We found the Frigidaire unit, had it installed and begin using it right away. It is even faster than the little one burner induction unit we had. In the power boost mode it will boil 4 cups of water in a minute and a half. We love it and are recommending it to all our friends.

Before You Buy

Measure your space

Measure the width, depth & height of opening. For clean access the door should be able to open 90 degrees or more.

Haul-away

Many retailers have haul-away programs if they deliver your new cooktop. Check to see what retailers offer and have a plan when you’ve selected a new cooktop.

Check your doorways

Check the doorways to ensure your cooktop can easily get into your home. Measure from the stops on each side since those are the closest contact points.
