This unit was warranty replacement for one that quit within 3 months. This replacement unit is a junker, most likely factory reject used for warranty replacements. It wasn't shipped in retail packaging like ones sold by retailers, it was shipped in brown cardboard box. Such packaging is non-issue, but the unit collects very little water for some reason regardless of settings. Compared to the good unit which I still own, it consistently collets 80% less water when both units run at the same time. If one dehumidifier fills up the bucket, and the replacement collects several cups, it is logical to conclude that replacement unit is junk.

Work Horse of a Dehumidifier
We bought this Frigidaire when our old one died and would no longer turn on. I read reviews and decided to go with this one. We are so happy we did! It pulls the humidity out of the air and the house feels great; no longer damp when we have this really humid weather and rain.
I love the feature that indicates that the filter needs cleaning; with pets it seems to need it more often. It is easy to operate and the noise level is not bothersome.
This is the best product we have ever purchased to reduce the humidity. Have recommended it to others as we are delighted with our purchase. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Great dehumidifier huge capacity no ongoing alarm.
I also own the 30 pint capacity model. Our house is very damp, and the 30 pint capacity would fill every night, sound it's alarm, then flash it's light until emptied. This was annoying and woke us up often. This model takes days to fill and while it does have a beeping alarm, after that there is no indication that it is full other than a small LED on the display. This no longer wakes us up, but means you need to check on it from time to time to be sure it isn't full. Otherwise it has been awesome, though it is noticeably louder than the 30 pint model, it's not enough to wake us. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Workhorse Frigidaire 70 pint fad704dwd
After researching all other products, we chose this make/model due to it's past engineering & the commitment to quality Frigidaire / Electrolux cares so passionately about with their products and we could never be more impressed with it's productivity. We thoroughly enjoyed the "continuous" run feature & sleeps once the desired humidity level has been set. Extremely quiet & literally draws gallons of moisture out of our 700 sq foot basement (estimate) via 50' standard garden hose hook-up. Thank you Electrolux for a well-built/manufactured machine that has lasted months and look forward to lasting years!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

how about this
Beware of cleaning
"Clean bucket with warm water and detergent." Yeah? How? My husband had to take out 6 screws (in layers) to remove the drawer pull, handle, and top plastic pieces so I could get in there and scrub out the mold that had grown because it's so difficult to clean the bucket. Never had an issue with other dehumidifiers so never thought to check this before purchasing. Definitely learned my lesson! It does do well removing moisture, but it heats up our apartment so much when running that I don't use it as much as I normally would. Would probably be great in a cool basement where you're not living with the heat and noise.

Great job lowering humidity, BUT runs continually
The Frigidaire dehumidifier arrived "ready to go" from Walmart shipping.
The instructions were easy to understand, and unit has worked wonderfully since the first day. The basement feels more comfortable, and the included water collector bucket is consistently and rapidly filling up, quickly. The nicely designed water collector bucket makes it so easy to carry up from the basement and water the outside flowers.
However, compared to our previous dehumidifier, the unit runs continually. That is, it only shuts off a fews seconds before fully operating again. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

cleared out the dampness and basement smell
I chose this humidifier based on numerous reviews I read. I love that I can set the percentage of humidity I want. This is my first humidifier and it is a lot more quiet than I expected. Holds a lot of water in the tank. Easy to remove tank to empty. Easy set up and attachment of hose for continous running. I had about a 3 inch ring of moisture all around my basement wall on the floor. Within 24 hours of the humidifier running-no moisture ring. I am extremely pleased with this purchase and would recommend. A little pricier than other humidifiers I reviewed but I wanted something that would last and not be constantly replaced. This is the third unit I've owned and thus far appears to be the most stable to date. In the past I've had trouble with other units having mold growing in the unit itself and tipping over. This unit is a little wider and appears more stable than past units we've owned. We've also placed it in a location to avoid tipping it over by accidently bumping into it, but that is surprisingly hard in our size house. It would be great to hook it up to a drain pipe, but that is not easily feasible based on our build of house so we constantly empty the container. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
