Looks good, burners not as powerful as I'd like
I've had this stove for about 7 years and like it: it's been a good, dependable range. Works fine, but top burners (gas) are not as powerful as I thought they'd be - not hot enough to really stir-fry well. It just ends up kind of 'simmering' instead - or to a "medium fry" heat, and that's with preparing only 1 or 2 servings at a time just to do that. It can sear a little if you use good heavy pan (I prefer cast iron), but you can only do one or two pieces of meat at a time - any more and it brings the cooking temp down too low to sear well. I've had gas company check and everything is working properly - it's just not very powerful. Both ovens work fine (electric).
I've never liked black glass on ranges (like the top on this), but thought I could learn to like it. It's very hard to keep clean - - everything shows on it - - even when it's clean, you still see streaks, fingerprints, etc. I know there are special cleansers and cloths for glass tops, but who wants to pull out a "cleaning kit" every time you use it. I just wipe down with a micofiber cloth and let "good" be "good enough."
If you're looking for a professional look and average performance, this is a good choice, but pay close attention to the burner BTUs: If you really want professional performance and high heat needed for searing/stir-fries, this probably isn't a good choice. RT
