      Okay if you don't want to use the timer
      I just got this microwave less than a month ago. It works fine so far. The only complaint I have is that the timer is VERY insufficient. It is a single very low volume beep. I burnt about $30 worth of baked goods in the oven last night because sitting one room away from the kitchen, the single beep was not audible. Not sure if this is typical, the regular beeping when the microwave is done cooking is a much louder, continual beep...so that's what I expected to hear from the timer as well. Very disappointed to learn this feature is pretty much useless.

      Poor convection performance
      This model works ok as a microwave but the advertised "bake/brown" convection feature is of questionable performance. It is not possible to achieve the desired baking temperature and thus the baking products are unsatisfactory. Furthermore, once the oven has heated, the exhaust fan turns on automatically producing a significant noise and the lowering of the baking temperature even more. We have had 4 service calls to try to fix it and are now told that it is operating according to design--a poor substitute for a baking oven. I think it is a "lemon" but fixing it does not seem to be an option.
