      These units heat and cool good.The Thermostats will not hold setting you burn up or freeze.You set it to 75 degrees cool it goes to 65,you set to 73 heat it goes to 85. I have two of these units.You Have to turn on and off to control temp. It can be a as big entergy waster as my old units.I will not buy another inverter unit.

      I purchased two of these units (Sept 2011) to replace my two 26 year old 10k btu PTAC (thru wall) heat pumps at our lake house in Texas. These units have performed beyond my expectations. They use less than 40% (overall) of the power (watts) of my old PTAC units. Frigidaire uses the Sanyo C-6 twin rotary DC compressor, this sold me. I monitored the units with a digital home watt meter system and compared the old PTAC units with the Frigidaire to verify the savings. These units are easy to install "if you are a do it yourself person and have the proper tools for R410a". I found no contractors in my area willing to pressure test for leaks, vacuum the system and turn on the refrigerant for under $400, and thats after I did the install, and over $1500 if they did the complete installation, for each system. What? Frigidaire Mini-Splits are will worth the investment and will reward you with lower electric bills. I purchased (half off list) my two systems, after lots of due diligence, from Marlin Appliance, Seaford, NY (by phone only). diyguy
