Convection Toaster Oven

1. How do I set the color and slices for toasting?

   After you choose the Toast mode: 

   1. Press the Temp (Darkness) button, turn the Temp/Timer knob to set how dark you want to toast your bread and press Set.
   2. Press the Time (Slices/Size) button, turn the Temp/Timer knob to the slice you want and press Set.
   3. Press the Start/Cancel button to start toasting.

2. How do I set the temperature and time for baking?

   After you choose the Bake mode:

   1. Press the Temp (Darkness) button, turn the Temp/Timer knob to the temperature you want and press Set.
   2. Press the Time (Slices/Size) button, turn the Temp/Timer knob to the time you want and press Set.
   3. Press the Start/Cancel button to start baking.

3. How do I set the temperature, size, and time for cooking pizza?

   Choose the Pizza mode, and then:

   1. Press the Temp (Darkness) button, turn the Temp/Timer knob to the temperature you want and press Set.
   2. Press the Time (Slices/Size) button, turn the Temp/Timer knob to the size you want and press Set.
   3. Press the Time (Slices/Size) button, turn the Temp/Timer knob to the time you want and press Set.
   4. Press the Start/Cancel button to start cooking your pizza.

4. Why is there a color difference between the two sides of my bread when I toast it?

   This can happen if the position of the cooking rack needs to be adjusted. Try putting the rack in the lowest rung, keeping the "bridge" up.

5. What are the default settings for my toaster oven’s different modes?

   The default settings for the various modes are shown in the chart below.

6. Why does it seem like the lower heating element isn’t working?

   There are a couple of reasons why it might appear as if the lower heating element isn’t working:

   • When you use the Broil or Bagel mode, the lower heating element does not turn on.
   • The upper heating element is typically much brighter than the lower one, which can make it seem like the lower heating element is not working.

7. Sometimes the heating elements turn on and off while I’m using my toaster oven. Is this normal?

   Yes, this is normal. Your toaster oven has powerful, high-efficiency heating elements, which do not need to be running constantly to produce the required amount of heat. They will often been seen cycling on and off as they maintain the right temperature.

8. Why does the Convection button work sometimes, while other times it doesn’t?

   The Convection function is designed to be used only in certain modes. You can use it when you choose Bake, Cookies, Pizza, Reheat, or Warm. The button won't work in other modes.

9. Is it normal for the display light to be turned off, or to turn off on its own?

   Yes. The LCD light will turn off automatically after your toaster oven has been idle for 60 seconds. You can light it up again simply by pressing any of the buttons.

Toaster

1. When I press the handle down to start toasting, it won’t latch. What should I do?

   First, be sure you are pressing the handle all the way down to its lowest position. If it still won’t latch, check to be sure the toaster is securely plugged into an outlet. (The handle will not latch if the power cord is not plugged in.)

2. Sometimes my toast burns. Why does that happen?

   Certain breads are more likely to burn quickly. For example, bread that has a high sugar content, or sugar on its surface, can easily burn. Bread that is particularly dry can also burn quickly. 
   
   To prevent this, use a lighter setting when toasting.

3. I see six buttons on my toaster, but only three of them light up. Is this normal?

   Yes, this is normal. Only the Defrost, Reheat, and Bagel buttons will light up.

4. When I’m using my toaster, the number on the right flashes. Is this normal?

   Yes, this is normal. That number is there simply to remind you how much toasting time is left.

5. Why doesn’t the flashing number appear when I use the Reheat function?

   The Reheat function is set for 30 seconds. Because this is a relatively short amount of time, there is no reminder when you use this setting, so you won’t see the flashing number.
