THIS THANKSGIVING, AMERICA IS SEEING DOUBLE

November 23, 2011

The Thanksgiving countdown is on, and Frigidaire® has teamed up with two culinary masters to give harried holiday hosts a glimmer of hope this season.

Every year, veteran and novice hosts alike hoist, hover and hope that their turkeys will fit into their ovens and roast to poultry perfection.  There’s only one range that promises to double your holiday cooking power – and put more courses on the table faster – and that’s the new Frigidaire Gallery® Range with Symmetry™ Double Ovens, each big enough to cook a 28-pound turkey and provide the flexibility to cook multiple dishes at the same time at different temperatures.

The Frigidaire® Double or Nothing Holiday Challenge – a competition so big it took place in Times Square and was broadcast on four skyscrapers – put the range to the ultimate test as top Food Network Chefs, Anne Burrell and Geoffrey Zakarian, competed to pull together the biggest and best holiday feasts using only one of the new ranges each.  Anne and Geoffrey will be whipping up side dishes, turkeys and desserts with the help of the Fits-More™ Cooktop that includes two SpaceWise® Expandable elements and a Warming Zone so they can cook more at once.

“Innovations like this new range are helping to make the holidays more manageable for home cooks,” said Zakarian.  “The versatility is amazing.  You can roast two 28 pound turkeys at once, or one turkey and multiple side dishes.”

The event was streamed live online. Now, people everywhere can watch the Double or Nothing Holiday Challenge and vote for their favorite Chef at Facebook.com/Frigidaire. For every vote, Frigidaire® will donate $1 to Save the Children to help children and families in need in the United States.1  Plus, visitors can enter daily for a chance to win the new range.2

"Every family deserves to have a healthy, bountiful holiday meal," said Burrell.  "I’m so glad that this campaign is going to help provide healthy meals for children who live in poverty here in the United States."

America will be asked to judge on the best technique, best use of range’s space and features, most innovative use of traditional ingredients and plate appeal.  Visitors can check out great holiday recipes throughout the holiday seasonfor another chance to win the new range.3

“Frigidaire® has always been about making it easier for families to get out of the kitchen and on to the things they really love,” said John Weinstock, VP of Marketing.  “Our new range offers the capacity, flexibility and power that holiday hosts need to put a feast on the table in no time.”

The entire new Frigidaire® appliance line is available nationwide at select independent appliance dealers and at Best Buy, Lowe’s, Sears.
