Tips for Buying Hoods
UNDER-CABINET RANGE HOODS
Under-cabinet range hoods are common in the kitchens of many homes. These range hoods are mounted over a kitchen range or cooktop and underneath cabinets, hence the name "under-cabinet" range hoods.
Frigidaire® offers under-cabinet range hoods in two widths. There are 30" under-cabinet range hoods and 36" under-cabinet range hoods. The under-cabinet range hood ventilation power ranges from 160 to 400 CFM (cubic feet per minute). If you plan to do a lot of cooking, choose an under-cabinet range hood that has 400 CFM of venting power.
WALL-MOUNT RANGE HOODS
Wall-mount range hoods are ventilation hoods mounted to the wall of the kitchen. The wall-mount range hoods are still mounted above the range or cooktop but have no cabinets above. The wall-mount range hood has a different style and appeal compared to the under-cabinet range hood.
Frigidaire offers wall-mount range hoods in two widths: 30" wall-mount range hoods and 36" wall-mount range hoods. There are two styles for each wall-mount range hood size: glass hoods and stainless steel hoods.
You can choose either a 30" wall-mount glass range hood or a 36" wall-mount glass range hood. Or, if you prefer stainless steel, you can choose either a 30" wall-mount stainless steel range hood or a 36" wall-mount stainless range hood.
All Frigidaire wall-mount range hoods have 600 CFM (cubic feet per minute) of venting power.
ISLAND-MOUNT RANGE HOODS
Island-mount range hoods are for kitchens with island cooktops. Island-mount range hoods along with island cooktops add a totally different dimension to the kitchen.
Frigidaire offers island-mount range hoods in two sizes: 36" island-mount range hoods and 42" island-mount range hoods. All Frigidaire island-mount range hoods are glass range hoods and have air delivery of 600 CFM (cubic feet per minute).
DOWNDRAFT VENTS
Downdraft vents are kitchen ventilation systems for downdraft cooktops or downdraft ranges on island cooktops. Downdraft vents draw the cooking aromas and air downward instead of upward like under-cabinet range hoods, wall-mount range hoods or island-mount range hoods.
Frigidaire offers two models of downdraft vents: 30" downdraft vents and 36" downdraft vents. Both model types are stainless steel and provide air delivery of 500 CFM (cubic feet per minute).
